Chroma Energy is set up by the same team of engineers from Chroma Systems Private Ltd. (Chroma Systems) that has an excellent and well recognized track record in new product development. Chroma Systems, in last decade or so, has developed and commercialised new engineering products that use multi disciplinary knowledge in material sciences, metallography, optics, embedded software and signal processing among others to deliver machine vision and automation solutions to discerning users in India.

The team’s design and development output has won national innovation awards. Its portfolio includes ‘Die Hard’ series micro-hardness tester (BW-NID awardee) and Bolt-on low cost CNC kit for retrofit automation of lathes (patent pending). These products are not only technical successes but also are a commercial hit; its customer base includes leading Indian companies.

Chroma Systems is also the only company in India that has designed, developed and commercialised Micro hardness tester. This is a completely indigenously developed product and involves optical design, precision mechanisms and ergonomics. This product has also won an award from BW-NID in 2005 for best industrial equipment design.

This team has previously built one of the leading image analysis solutions for metallography for the Indian industry. More than 300 companies in India, Europe, US and SE Asia including Hero Honda, TVS Motors, Arcelor Mittal Steel, Mahindra Tractors, Sundaram Fasteners, Jindal Steel, Bharat Forge etc. are using these systems.

Chroma Systems has designed and implemented machine vision solutions that are used for fast, accurate and non-contact inspection and measurement.

Five years ago Chroma Systems developed a bolt on PC based low cost automation solution for machine tools (for which a patent has been filed). This has been successfully commercialised as a low cost PC based Bolt-On CNC Kit for the automation of lathes in India and more than 300 such kits have been installed in the past three years. This product has been awarded the Most Innovative Product award from TiE and IIT-Bombay.
